Chapter 1.
When I was first in full time work some years ago, it was coming up to the end of year when the Company organised a party for it’s staff. We were allowed to take our spouses or partners. The do was going to take place on a Friday evening and finish around 1.30a.m. Three weeks before the event I didn’t have a partner as I wasn’t in any relationship then.
There was a young woman, Melanie, a few years younger than myself that I thought was quite nice but knew she was into drinking quite a bit and having a good time at parties. I knew her through our work but not well, she worked in a different department, but I asked her if she would be my partner for the company do. She readily agreed, saying she was looking forward to it and hoped we would have a good and enjoyable time.
On the evening I had arranged to drive to her house for 7.30p.m, meet her parents, so that they were aware who I was and where we going, then we would drive in my car to the location in the City.
All went well during the evening, with good food and plenty of drink, lots of dancing and we had a thoroughly good time. The evening had gone much much better than I had anticipated and we ended up quite close at the end. Probably not just how the evening developed, possibly due to the combination of good food, plenty of drink (though neither of us got drunk) and music. As we walked back to the car we were holding hands, stopping for the occasional kiss and looking at each other.
The drive to her house wasn’t far but on the way we stopped in a car park by the beach on the harbour near where she lived to talk about the evening and about each other. This was our first date.
Soon it was 3 a.m. and I suggested we ought to be getting home. Melanie turned and said there wasn’t any rush and anyway she would like to see the sun coming up later and with that she turned and started to kiss me, quite passionately. On that signal I returned the kisses. The kissing got longer and more meaningful and soon we were tonguing each other.
